Крайне странный проект. Сами австрийцы, дебютный альбом вышел на Ouroubouros/WSD через лэйбл Hau Ruck!, принадлежащий Юлиусу Альбину из Der Blutharsch. При этом имеют русское название, используют сэмплы из советских фильмов и русские слова, поют на испанском, итальянском и чешском (?), а играют эдакий странный, разухабистый индустриально-фашистский "easy-listening", иногда срывающийся в какую-то балканскую цыганщину, в котором намешаны нойзы, лупы из перегруженных шансонов и неожиданные жесткие ритмические ходы и который одновременно вызывает четкие ассоциации с совершенно непохожими друг на друга Ain Soph и People Like Us. Все это вдруг неожиданно сменяется мрачнейшим и тяжелейшим дарк-вейвом c жесткой индустриальной перкуссией и милитаристской атмосферой ("Brigada Budoucnost") или ритуально-нойзовым шаманством ("Siento Lo", "Sala, 19.00 MEZ"). А потом также неожиданно возвращается обратно. Заканчивается альбом двумя монотонно-нойзовыми агрессивными трэками, записанными, судя по всему, живьем и с сильной перегрузкой и представляющими из себя мощный апофеоз альбома. После предшествующего веселья их практически физически больно слушать - веселье кончилось, начинается война и похмелье.

This album should be listened to when considering suicide, recovering from a bad hangover or simply just because you can enjoy some of the darkest moments of Austrian folk music. Never since the Third Man drinking was that good!

You are in a Mid-European nightclub listening to a group of folk musicians. The year is 1900. This is the stage set by Novy Svet, the project of j. weber and frl. tost from Vienna. Novy Svet (New World) is inspired by interest in historical Futurism and the early Twentieth century avant-garde as well as European folk tradition.

Influenced by The Moon Lay Hidden/Der Blutharsch and Deutsch Nepal, they produce an unusual blend of folkiness and samples. Although based in German-speaking Austria, the group is obviously orientated in the Slavic countries of the Balkans to which Vienna has always been a door. Faccia a Faccia is released on HauRuck!, a side label of Der Blutharschs Albin Julius, and is distributed by World Serpent. It will appeal to those with nostalgia for Fin de Siecle Mitteleuropa. Come out wherever you are.

Letters to a German Friend; USA

A splendid surprise from the label of Julius Albinus. Novy Svet set among the Austrian ranks of Allerseelen, and of course Der Blutharsch. This is trash folk from the heart of mother Europa, avant-garde and Kultur in a modernized reactionary martini mix of chanting and jazz lounge guitars. I think Novy Svet are just a fantastic outfit and I am excited to hear their newer recordings. If you expect clean and atmospheric music this may not be for you, but alas anything goes these days so indeed it perhaps is not for the average conousieur.

Robbie Williams - (2005) Intensive Care Stokes favourite sons sixth studio album marks a new stage in the career of Mr Robert Peter Williams, Britains favourite popular entertainer. Severed from his former right hand man, songwriter Guy Chambers, Intensive Care sees him forging a new partnership with former Lilac Time stalwart Stephen Duffy. The result is his most complete album to date, free from the gimmicky fillers--like "Me and My Monkey" and "Jesus In A Camper Van"--that tended to drag previous efforts down.Never short of cocksure bravado, Robbie starts proceedings off with a modest declaration—"Here I stand victorious, the only man who made you come", but for once hes got the tunes to back up the posturing. Therere plenty of classic Robbie tracks, from the ballad-tastic "Advertising Space"--which should see "Angels" relegated to the backbenches--to the public confessional of "The Trouble With Me"; plus some daring departures in between, from the 80s pop fun of "Sin Sin Sin" to the Rolling Stones-a-like "A Place To Crash", via the Oasis-lite of "Make Me Pure" and the Smiths-esque guitars on "Your Gay Friend". You cant help but feel that Mr Williams has a point to make with this album, to all the people who said hed be nothing without Guy Chambers; if that is the case, he couldnt have gone about it a better way than by serving up the best album of his career to date.
